Set of Antique Wileman Cameo Side Plates

A set of highly collectable Wileman side plates.  Manufactured in circa 1886 by Charles E. Wileman, Foley Potteries and Foley China Works, Fenton, England.  Wileman (later renamed as Shelley and sometimes called Foley), was one of the most respected manufacturers of fine bone china tea ware in the late 19th century.

The plates are designed in the 'Snowdrop' shape, coloured in a rustic orange/red with cameo panels of reclining Grecian figures, bountiful urns and frivolous beaded swags. The rims are gilded.

Condition: In very good antique condition.  Nice bright colours.  Some visible rub to the gilding on all plates.  Crazing and firing specks on all the plates.  Some slight discolouration on some of the plates around the rims.  None of these characteristics are hugely noticeable.   These characteristics are normal and commensurate with older china.   (Click on About Our China for more details on condition).
